Stats & Highlights | The Wizards and the Bulls are blazing, the Bucks are blowing, the Jazz are suffering
December 31, 2022
After going on a 10-game losing streak, the Wizards are doing much better. They took advantage of a weakened Orlando team to record a fourth straight victory.
Chicago is also doing well, with a success against Detroit which is the fifth in six games. For the Bucks, against the Wolves, it was “woe to the vanquished”. Milwaukee managed to stop the bleeding after four losses. Minnesota therefore continues to sink, with five losses in a row.
Finally, Sacramento dismissed Utah on the wire and plunged the franchise into a small crisis. She has not won for three matches.

Orlando–Washington: 100-119
After the rain of suspensions inflicted by the NBA following the altercation in Detroit, the Magic had only eight players to line up against the Wizards. Franz Wagner showed up early in the game with eight points in a 16-0 lead that put Orlando ahead early in the second quarter.
But Kristaps Porzingis (30 points) reacted with 15 points in the last nine minutes of the first period. Washington took over the controls and drove the point home in the third act, despite his 26 lost balls. The Floridians sink in defense and it is a fourth victory in a row for the players of the capital.
Rudy Gobert absent (sick), Giannis Antetokounmpo enjoyed himself inside with 43 points and 20 rebounds. However, it was Bobby Portis, with eleven points in the first quarter, who launched the Bucks. Clumsy, the 2021 champions are struggling to start the meeting.
So that at the break, it is the Wolves who dominate. In the third quarter, the machine of Milwaukee starts again. Joe Ingles finds the target at 3-pointers and the Bucks crush the act and the second half with 73 points. If Milwaukee can breathe, however, it’s a fifth straight loss for Minnesota.
Zach LaVine (43 points) started strong and the Bulls finished well. The fullback scored 18 points in the first quarter to start Chicago. But the Pistons, despite the absences of Killian Hayes and Hamidou Diallo, held up well.
It took until the end of the game to see the Bulls make the difference. Alex Caruso and LaVine notably found the target at 3-pts during the fatal 17-3, to definitively rule out Detroit.
For 38 minutes, and without ever making the difference, the Kings of Domantas Sabonis (28 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists) were in front. Then, after an award-winning basket from Mike Conley, the Jazz finally took control.
The two teams will then answer each other constantly until the end of the match. Kevin Huerter, author of his best career game with 30 points, has the last word with an award-winning basket nine seconds from time. Lauri Markkanen, still brilliant offensively (36 points), misses his last attempt. Second straight victory for Sacramento.
