No Jayson Tatum, no problem for the Celtics. The Wizards were also diminished (Kyle Kuzma absent) and with their clumsiness, they sank against Jaylen Brown (36 points) and the 2022 finalists.
The Boston collective was much stronger and the gap rose to 26 points in the third quarter. Washington manages to return to twelve units in the last act, therefore, Joe Mazzulla simply recalled his incumbents to ensure victory. Third loss in a row for the Wizards.
For three quarters, the Cavaliers more or less kept pace with the Pistons. In the last quarter, they raised their level of play in defense (16 points conceded in twelve minutes) and thus made the difference.
Detroit players dropped too many valuable points (12) on the free throw line. After two successes by Killian Hayes, Donovan Mitchell (32 points) scored at 3-pts and free throws and Cleveland won. Fifth victory in six matches for the players of JB Bickerstaff.
Still deprived of James Harden, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers were able to count on Shake Milton and Tobias Harris to dispose of the Magic. Both players carried Philadelphia 29-10 early in the second quarter.
Orlando’s defense could not slow down Doc Rivers’ players, who were able to enjoy scoring easily, especially in the racket. The gap was made at the break and the Floridians will never drop below 20 points thereafter. The Sixers therefore won easily and inflicted a fourth straight defeat on the Magic.
