Stats & Highlights | The Kings struggle against the Grizzlies, the Celtics have fun

The favorites of the night held their place, but not all in the same way. If the Celtics had no trouble getting rid of Detroit, the Kings and the Bulls had to work hard at the end of the match to ensure their success. Sacramento even had to go through overtime to dismiss a decidedly eye-catching Memphis team (121-111).

It took a lot of heat Malik Monkauthor of 18 of his 28 points in the evening in the last quarter and the extension, so that Mike Brown's players do not fall into the trap that they themselves had partly dug. Not in shooting success, Domantas Sabonis still signed a strong double-double (25 points, 18 rebounds), his 50e of rank. The Kings also lost to injury Kevin Huerterhit in the shoulder after only two minutes of play. Yet in civilian clothes on the Grizzlies bench, Marcus Smart managed to get himself sent off for two technical fouls in overtime.

No extension in Chicago, but the Bulls also had to fight, as often this season. And the best team in the clutch in 2023/24 held on, despite losing the fourth act against the Blazers (110-107). Anfernee Simons12 of its 30 points in the last quarter, failed to equalize at the siren, and the United Center was able to breathe a big sigh of relief. DeMar DeRozan continues his strong end to the season with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists, while being decisive with an assist and two free throws in the last ten seconds. In front, Deandre Ayton dominated (25 points, 15 rebounds) when Scoot Henderson showed himself to be in difficulty once again (14 points but at 4/17, 6 lost balls).

Meanwhile, even Boston's second team, without Jayson Tatum, Al Horford and Jrue Holiday, is unfolding. The Pistons, also diminished by the absences of Cade Cunningham or Simone Fontecchio, did not resist, while the Celtics found for their part Kristaps Porzingis after five games of absence. Joe Mazzulla's players only really needed three quarters to make the difference, thanks in large part to a Boston starting five at 19/36 from a distance! Derrick White took the opportunity to sign the first triple-double of his career (22 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists). Evan Fournier garnered playing time (22 minutes) but was clumsy (3 points at 1/9 including 1/7 at 3-points).
