Stats & Highlights | Bucks still undefeated, Nets and Grizzlies fall

In form, were the Hawks going to be the first to beat the Bucks? No, because Giannis Antetokounmpo and his band are solid. Fifth victory in five matches for the 2021 champions.

For the Nets, however, it’s a fourth straight loss. Unable to defend, Kevin Durant and company lose against the Pacers and their rookie Bennedict Mathurin. Finally, the Grizzlies were close to winning without Ja Morant against Utah.

Brooklyn–Indiana: 116-125

Bennedict Mathurin confirms his good start to the season. The rookie scored 32 points, his new career high, in Brooklyn against ailing Nets, who are clearly not up to par on defense.

Indiana pulled away in the third quarter and in the final act, Kevin Durant, with four straight points, brought the Nets back. A 3-pointer from Chris Duarte and a 6-0 later, the Pacers secured their success despite 61 points from Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

Milwaukee–Atlanta: 123-115

Giannis Antetokounmpo was too strong. Especially when he also receives help from Jrue Holiday (34 points each). The Bucks took control of the game in the first period, then in the second, Giannis went wild with 30 points.

Atlanta is ten points behind at the start of the last quarter, when Trae Young (42 points) brings the Hawks to a tie. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young trade the baskets, but the 2021 Finals MVP has the last laugh, with Milwaukee 7-0.

Utah-Memphis: 124-123

Even without Ja Morant, the Grizzlies started the game well, before giving ground. In the third quarter, they go 15-0 to regain control, Desmond Bane (32 points) and Dillon Brooks (30) being prolific to compensate for the absence of the playmaker.

But Utah is still there. In the “money time”, the two teams exchange important baskets. Desmond Bane gives Memphis a five-point lead, Lauri Markkannen responds at 3-pts and Kelly Olynyk pursues. Malik Beasley also brings his stone to the building and the Jazz ends up winning, on the wire.
