Announced in January, Netflix's NBA series “Starting 5” now has a premiere date. It's set to premiere on October 9. Inspired by the series “Quarterback,” with an episode focusing on a player and his personal life, this first season will star Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, Domantas Sabonis and LeBron James.
The presence of the “King” in this season and this Netflix series did not surprise anyone since the 2024 Olympic champion teamed up with Peyton Manning and the Obama couple for the production. More precisely, it is “SpringHill Company” by LeBron James and his partner Maverick Carter, “Omaha Productions” by Peyton Manning and “Higher Ground” by Barack and Michelle Obama.
Let's remember that the NBA offers a series with a nearly similar concept with “Pass The Rock”. This series aims to introduce the general public to the young talents who will make the NBA of tomorrow. Last season, we could find Paolo Banchero, Jalen Brunson, Chet Holmgren, Jaren Jackson Jr., Tyrese Maxey, Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Edwards. The Minnesota guard, also an Olympic champion this summer, will therefore have the honors of both documentaries.
