As the first matches of the In-season tournamentscheduled from this Friday, November 3, the NBA has unveiled one of the major new features of this unique tournament, organized for the very first time this season.
Thus, all matches in the group stage and quarter-finals of the competition will take place on a special and almost identical floor for each team, in order to clearly distinguish the matches which will count for the In-season tournament.
This is also the first time that the NBA has innovated with the implementation of an alternative floor for each of its franchises. In this case, this special In-season tournament floor is completely painted and it incorporates the new NBA Cup in the center of the field, with the home team logo which is represented on the trophy.
As a reminder, the new In-season tournament will take place from November 3 to December 9 and it is supposed to restore interest in the regular season, in addition to offering a certain amount of money to the players (and to the NBA… ) depending on the course of their team. The 30 franchises are divided, by conference, into six pools of five teams (according to last season’s ranking) and the final phase will be direct elimination, with the semi-finals and the final which will be played in Las Vegas.
