Spain will play its TQO without Ricky Rubio

Spain wants to get its ticket to Paris without one of its most eminent representatives. The Iberian Federation has just announced a pre-selection of 22 players, as part of its participation in the Olympic qualifying tournament. With a notable absence therefore: Ricky Rubio.

Earlier in the week, the Barcelona playmaker made no secret of being in the dark about the rest of his career. Including on the international scene, where the veteran made his return last winter as part of the qualification for Euro 2025.

Which will not prevent the Spanish selection from still looking good with the number 1 on the playmaker position, Lorenzo Brown (Maccabi), in the company of the interior of the Grizzlies, Santi Aldama, the veterans Rudy Fernandez and Sergio Llull (Real Madrid). Without forgetting the brothers Juancho (Panathinaikos) and Willy Hernangomez (Barcelona), or even Alex Abrines (Barcelona).

It is recalled that Spain, whose gathering will start on June 10, will be one of the hosts of the Olympic qualifying tournament, which will take place in Valencia from July 2 to 7. In its group, it will face Angola and Lebanon (Pool A), before crossing with the Bahamas, Finland and Poland (Pool B)
