Nice little wink from Nike and Devin Booker who will draw from the “Player Exclusive” colors of the Nike Book 1 to complete the collection of the first signature shoes of the Suns player available to the general public.
The first will be the “Forrest Gump” version using the colors of the Nike Cortez of the same name which will go on sale. As in the iconic pair from the film, we find a bright white upper contrasted by red finishes on the “Swoosh”, on the tongue or the heel, with a blue band at the mid-sole.
The Nike Book 1 “Forrest Gump” will be available on January 22 for $140.
Our Book 1 Verdict
Nike and Devin Booker succeeded in making this “Book 1” a dual-use shoe, responding to both the codes and the classic design of a “lifestyle” shoe, while guaranteeing impeccable technical characteristics on the basketball plan.
Inspired by the Nike Air Force 1, the pair has been reworked with a Cushlon 2.0 midsole which provides the dynamism necessary for profiles like Devin Booker. We would have appreciated a little more comfort on the forefoot but the essential thing is there. The grip and support also reach the market standard. Book 1 also has a homage side in its DNA that will attract the general public.
