Skylar Mays convinced the Blazers

After interiors Ibou Badji and Josh Butler Jr, Portland holds its third “two-way contract”. According to Adrian WojnarowskiIt is Skylar Mays who was chosen and he will therefore have the opportunity to shuttle between the G-League team and the training of Chauncey Billups.

The leader/back visibly convinced the leaders of the Oregon franchise to give him a chance, especially after his good performances in the last six games of last season, for which he was signed on a ten-day contract ( 15.3 points, 8.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds).

Drafted by Atlanta in 2020, Skylar Mays quickly joined the G-League afterward. Last season, he also played for the Delaware Blue Coats, then for the Capitanes de Mexico.

Two-way contract : Designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, to develop them mainly in their affiliated development league franchise but also up to 50 matches in the NBA.
