The Sixers' roster is taking shape a little more, after the extension of Kyle Lowry and the return of KJ Martin. Next season, they will have to count on Joel Embiid, Andre Drummond and Adem Bona at the Sixers' pivot position. Philadelphia has just offered its rookie a four-year, $8 million contract.
The former UCLA player was one of the good picks left to make on the second night of the draft. He had 12.4 points at 58.8%, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 26.5 minutes on average last year, during his second year with the Bruins.
The Sixers will therefore have a physical monster to take over from their veterans. Adem Bona has notably distinguished himself with numerous blocks during his first four Summer League games. The 21-year-old pivot even signed a performance with five blocks during his last appearance. But he does not intend to stop there.

“One of the things I would like to show is being able to do everything defensively: on the ball, in pick-and-roll, or on switches.”, he thus affirms. “That’s something I’d like to show in my freshman year…Offensively, being able to get out on the pick-and-roll and play fast, which is one of my strengths.”
Adem Bona will have plenty to learn the trade alongside two experienced pivots. But it is especially with Joel Embiid that the Turkish pivot intends to perfect his game in order to establish himself in the NBA.
“Playing against him, facing him every day is going to be a good challenge for me. And also a learning process. Being able to learn from such an incredible player, is really going to be a good step in my career.”
