We suspected it a little with the signing of Patty Mills at the Heat, and the AP announces that Josh Richardson finally decided to have surgery after suffering a dislocated shoulder against the Celtics in mid-February.
The 30-year-old full-back/winger nevertheless looked for a way to resume the season, knowing that an operation would be necessary at some point. But the embarrassment was probably too much to handle.
It is therefore without him that the Heat will end the 2023/24 campaign, the Florida club having moved up to 6th place in the Eastern Conference, with 35 victories for 26 defeats.
For Josh Richardson, this return to Miami, where he began his NBA career between 2015 and 2019 before being exchanged to the Wolves for… Jimmy Butler, did not allow him to relaunch, he who was slowed down by a multitude injuries in recent seasons. Positive point for him, however, in the short term: he has a “player option” at $3 million, which he can activate to stay in Miami next year.
