Sasha Vezenkov: “It’s going a little faster in the NBA”

It’s done ! Even though it’s just a preseason game, Sasha Vezenkov made his debut with the Kings. It was in Vancouver, against the Raptors, and the Bulgarian finished as Sacramento’s top scorer in the defeat against the Raptors (111-99). A decent performance with 12 points on 4 out of 7 shots in… 11 minutes.

“It’s always different when you play and you’re not in front of the television”, recognized Sasha Vezenkov at the end of the match. “It was our first preseason game. We are still trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together and play better. The result was obviously not the best, but we continue to trust our process, in training, and we still need to improve before our first official match.”

“In the Euroleague, there is more reading of the game”

Sasha Vezenkov very quickly learned the elements of NBA language, and he confirms this when we ask him for his opinion on his performance. From the start, he hit the mark.

“It’s always nice, but I try to help the team in different areas. I repeat, every match, I will try to improve, and I will improve. I train every day, and there is no other way. You have to take on the challenge, and if there is a failure, you have to get through it. I don’t expect to be 100% from day one. »

Finally, we have to wait for a question on the comparison between the Euroleague and the NBA for the Bulgarian to step out of the box.

“It’s a different game. Even though it’s preseason, the pace is different. It goes a little faster in the NBA. In Euroleague there is more reading of the game. They are two totally different types of game, but each game has its own charm. »
