Sanctioned by the NBA, the Heat put all their players on the injured list!

Is this a threat to the NBA or a nice way to “troll” its leaders? Like the Nets, the Floridians were fined $25,000 following their game against OKC for not having ” communicated the exact status of the availability of several players before the meeting.

That evening, Jimmy Butler, Jamal Cain, Gabe Vincent, Omer Yurtseven and Nikola Jovic were listed as unavailable. In response to the fine received, the Heat have therefore decided to place all of their players on the injured list including the 14 players under contract as well as the two “two-way players” for the meeting against Spurs scheduled in Mexico City this Saturday!

Jamal Cain (G-League), Gabe Vincent (left knee) and Omer Yurtseven (left ankle surgery) are listed as “forfeited”. In the “uncertain” section, we find Udonis Haslem (Achilles tendon), Caleb Martin (ankle), Dewayne Dedmon (foot) and Bam Adebayo (ankle), while the presence of the rest of the group is noted as “probable”. .

The idea is not to go to arm wrestling by refusing to play a match that is also important for the international influence of the NBA, for lack of suitable players, but rather to take advantage of this meeting on Mexican soil to attract attention to what appears to be perceived as overzealousness on the part of the league.

On the other hand, the Heat are simply taking precautions against the timing imposed by the NBA to receive the list of absentees. Moreover, before the game against the Rockets, the Heat had already placed 12 names on the injured list.

Inevitably, if all the players are on the injured list, the franchise cannot be penalized for having committed another oversight! We are of course competition “trolls”. Beware, however, of the reaction of the league, which is reluctant to show humor on these questions.
