Hired via a ten-day contract at the beginning of the month, the former player of Milwaukee (where he was NBA champion in 2021) and Memphis visibly convinced the staff of JB Bickerstaff since instead of making him sign a second contract ten days, the Ohio franchise hired him directly until the end of the season.
“Obviously he’s capable of putting in shots, but he’s not a one-dimensional player either”, underlined JB Bickerstaff. “I think he was leading or close to leading in terms of driving strong passes in the G-League, and he has the will to push himself, to help defensively. He is able to create his shots and put some”.
Sam Merrill has signed a three-year contract, guaranteed only until the end of the season. He is expected to hit close to $285,000 to end the current fiscal year, according to estimates from spotrac.
For the time being, he has only come into play twice, for four minutes each time, against Detroit and tonight in Charlotte (2 and 0 points).
