Russell Westbrook’s new goal: to become a billionaire!

In the NBA for 15 years, Russell Westbrook is among the greatest talents of his generation, and the 2017 MVP has already racked up more than $300 million in NBA revenue and more than $200 million from his activities off the court. With a fortune estimated at 375 million dollars, the leader of the Clippers is a good manager, coupled with a shrewd investor, but he does not want to be satisfied with that. In Forbes magazine, which he made the front page, Russell Westbrook reveals his next goal: to become a billionaire! “That’s what I want to be. In the business world, it’s a peak that people where I come from do not reach “.

Many investments

Like many sports stars, Russell Westbrook has invested part of his earnings in many different sectors such as food (Pizzana, Poppi), muscle recovery (Hyperice) or even social networks (Triller). He also owns his own streetwear brand ‘Honor The Gift’, whose sales increased by 75% last year.

Recently, the former MVP also launched his own company, “Russell Westbrook Enterprise”, and he has already created a subsidiary “RW Digital”, dedicated to online advertising and communication. With clients like AT&T, Nike, PepsiCo, American Airlines, Varo Bank and A+E Networks, Russell Westbrook anticipates revenue of $37 million this year.

Next step: investing in the auto parts industry. “It’s not a sexy business, far from it, but it’s a very lucrative business that is growing exponentially” details Russell Westbrookabout the automotive sector. “I had a click in my brain. I figured what wasn’t sexy was sexy to me.”.

He has not forgotten “the stone”, since he has also placed part of his fortune in a real estate fund focused on urban development in the south of Los Angeles, the first project of which started at the end of 2022.

“When people think of Los Angeles and the inner city, I want the first thing that comes to mind to be Russell Westbrook and the things we do for the community” explains the former Thunder player.

A realistic goal?

Free of any contract this summer, and after two last chaotic seasons, “Brodie” is obviously aware that basketball will no longer be his main source of income. Even more than a LeBron James or a Michael Jordan, he will have to rely on his investments in real estate or industry to achieve this goal which today seems utopian: to become a billionaire.

“I want to be a billionaire. Sooner or later “ repeat former MVP. “ My motto is ‘Why Not?’, that’s how I live. It took 75 years for another player to average a triple-double in an NBA season again. I’ve done it four times”.
