Russell Westbrook shuts down controversy over number change

Next season in Denver, Russell Westbrook will not wear number 0. Why? Because it is already taken by Christian Braun. From then on, there are two solutions: either the young Nuggets guard gives his number to the 2017 MVP, or he refuses. Apparently, according to some rumors mentioned here and there, there would have been a clear refusal.

So Russell Westbrook decided to write a message to clear things up. “Please leave your young star alone. Christian Braun and I have never discussed the number 0. I did not want, ask for or solicit the number 0 because I decided to mark this new change with a “new” number.”, writing the former Rockets or Clippers player.

A “fake news”

If he puts the word “new” in quotes, it's because he's going to wear #4. We've already seen him with that number, at the Wizards, because at the time, he also wanted to symbolize his change of team with a change of number. He had then specified that #4 was his “original number”her ” favorite “.

For this, Russell Westbrook was able to take advantage of Hunter Tyson's gesture, who agreed to wear #5 from now on to leave #4 to his new teammate. So no controversy regarding Christian Braun's alleged attitude.

“The excitement around the new season has begun and unfortunately I know it's also the beginning of the fake stories. Not today! Braun and I are focused and ready to shine in Denver!”concludes the former league top scorer.
