Rudy Gay, the Warriors’ 14th man?

With training camps about to begin, the Warriors still only have 13 players on guaranteed contracts, meaning they still have two spots to fill.

We thought that one of them would come back to Dwight Howardwho was tested by Steve Kerr, and who even trained with Chris Paul And Draymond Greenbut Golden State preferred to ignore the pivot, size not being the main concern of Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the leaders of the Bay.

As the new GM explained, the Warriors are above all looking for versatile players. And for the last places, they especially want veterans who will accept their roles and not pose a problem.

Or the profile of Rudy Gay, who signed with Golden State via a one-year contract. As explained by ESPNthis is however not guaranteed and the 37-year-old veteran will have to prove that he can still bring during the “training camp”, if he wants to play his 18th season in the Big League alongside Stephen Curry and company.

But even if he has clearly lost momentum in recent seasons, the former Grizzlies, Spurs or Kings player can still provide good minutes as a rotation on positions 3, 4 or even 5.

Especially in San Antonio and Utah, he had become a valuable veteran and respected by his teammates.
