Robert Williams III ever closer to his return

The Celtics’ Christmas gift seems to be confirmed. We know it, Robert Williams could return around December 25 and Joe Mazzulla has delivered news on the pivot, operated twice in recent months.

As a reminder, he had been operated on for a meniscus tear in his left knee before the playoffs, before having to undergo arthroscopy of the left knee in September and then injection of PRP, platelet-rich plasma.

“He did a new work session on Sunday”says the Celtics coach at NBC Sports. “He is very close to coming back, as the calendar announced. It’s just for him to get back into good physical condition, to make sure he’s comfortable. »

The 2022 finalist, so precious in Boston’s defensive system, still needs to find his legs before coming to strengthen the best team of the season (19 wins for 5 losses) so far.

“You have to be sure that his physical condition is good, that he feels good”, adds Joe Mazzulla. “He has to be in good condition before he comes back. There, he does an excellent job, he does his best. »
