Robert Sarver case: PayPal threatens to abandon the Suns

The hours pass and the Robert Sarver affair does not settle in the NBA. When it’s not LeBron James and Chris Paul who speak, it’s a shareholder of the Suns who calls for the resignation of the owner of the franchise.

The latter was fined (10 million dollars) and suspended by the league for one year following accusations of racism and sexism.

A sanction which is not enough for PayPal, the brand being one of the sponsors of the Suns since it is it that we find on the patch of the jersey of the 2021 finalists. The CEO of PayPal, Dan Schulman, has issued a press release.

It can be read that the brand has “reading the independent investigation conducted by the NBA” and that she finds Robert Sarver’s behavior “unacceptable and in conflict with values” from PayPal.

Consequently, and despite its support for players, coaches and the franchise, PayPal announces that it does not “will not renew its partnership with the Suns”which ends at the end of the 2022/2023 season, if the owner remains in place in Phoenix after his suspension.
