Rip City Remix has found its new coach

The Blazers have announced the Appointment of Spaniard Sergi Oliva at the helm of their G-League team, Rip City Remix. After learning his trade at home in Catalonia, Oliva joined the Sixers in 2014 as a statistician. Then, under Brett Brown, he would take on the dual role of manager and assistant, still at the Sixers.

In 2020, he was recruited by the Jazz and for two seasons, he would serve as Quin Snyder's assistant. After the Utah coach was fired, Oliva arrived in Portland as assistant GM. He therefore knows the G-League franchise well, and their recruits for the upcoming season.

The Blazers say Oliva will resume his role as assistant GM at the end of the G-League season.
