Right arm of Tom Thibodeau, Johnnie Bryant interests the Cavaliers

The best assistants in the NBA are very popular, and after Charles Lee, hired by the Hornets, or Jordi Fernandez, recruited by the Nets, three assistants are on the Cavaliers' shelves. According to The Athletic and ESPN, there are already James Borrego and Kenny Atkinson, and to those two, SNY adds Johnnie Bryant.

He's simply Tom Thibodeau's right-hand man at the Knicks, and he's held this position for four years. The most interesting thing is to remember that Bryant learned his skills at Jazz, under the leadership of Quin Snyder, and that he was very close to… Donovan Mitchell. Obviously, if Bryant were to join Cleveland, it would be a strong argument to convince Mitchell to extend. Even if a contract worth $208.5 million over four years is already an argument that cannot be refused.

Aged 38, Bryant graduated from the University of Utah before joining the Jazz in 2012 as an assistant in charge of player development. It was in 2014, at just 28 years old, that he was promoted to assistant, at the request of Quin Snyder who had just taken the reins of the team.
