The Mitchell Robinson trail is seriously cold since Shams Charania reports that Richaun Holmes has just extended his adventure with the Wizards. The former Sacramento “energizer” will compete with Alexandre Sarr for the starting pivot position.
The 30-year-old pivot declined his $12.8 million option to sign a new two-year contract for $25.9 million. It should be noted, however, that only $250,000, out of $13.3 million, is guaranteed for the 2025-26 season.
Which leaves flexibility for the capital franchise. This was therefore convinced by the performances of the interior arrival from Dallas, against Daniel Gafford, during last season.
In 17 appearances with the Wizards, half of them as a starter, Richaun Holmes averaged 7 points and 6 rebounds. That's about double what he had been able to offer in Dallas, where he never really managed to make his place in Jason Kidd's rotation.
Overall, this usually invigorating interior had a very average season, after an even more complicated previous year, with its lowest career productions.
It should be remembered that in 2021, the 37th pick in the 2015 Draft averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds as a starter with the Kings.
