Return under surveillance for Tyrese Haliburton

Midway through the third quarter against the Celtics, Tyrese Haliburton is out. To return in the last act? Ultimately, no. Which gave rise to concern since the leader of the Pacers was returning from injury.

Was he still bothered by his hamstring strain? No, it was just a precautionary measure. After 22 minutes in his team's defeat, and with 13 points (5/16 on the shoot) and 10 assists on the clock, the All-Star was put in the fridge, to avoid a relapse.

“I only do what is necessary to stay healthy,” explains the player. “It’s obvious that I need to play a certain number of matches and, at the same time, I need to be on the floor with my teammates. That's what I want to do: I want to play. There was a relapse the first time and the franchise put a plan in place to keep me on the field long term. I will try to play every match if possible. »

His playing time will slowly increase

Tyrese Haliburton has already missed 13 games this season. We know that more than 17 missed matches and it is the hopes of individual trophies that disappear, according to the new NBA regulations. Playing 22 minutes against Boston is enough to have one more game on the clock and not take any risks.

Touched on January 8, against Boston, he returned eleven days later to play 35 minutes against the Blazers. It was obviously too early or too many minutes to take since the playmaker remained in the infirmary for five more matches afterwards.

This return was therefore more controlled than the first and this will last for some time. “It’s not the easiest way to come back,” Rick Carlisle concedes. “It's really not easy but we have to applaud that, he really wanted to do it. I have a lot of respect for him. »
