Released by the Rockets, AJ Griffin (21 years old) does not know if he will continue his career

Traded to the Rockets by the Hawks this summer, AJ Griffin will ultimately not play for Houston this season. And it is unclear whether he will actually play in the NBA again. The Texan franchise has indeed just to release him from his contract via a “buy out” ($250,000) while the young 21-year-old winger is seriously wondering whether or not to continue his professional career in basketball…

For now, it is unknown why Adrian Griffin's son feels the need to move away from the courts, while he has been trying for two years to make his place in the NBA. A highly rated high school student, he had also been courted by the biggest universities, finally joining Duke after hesitating between Kentucky and Villanova.

After a year in the NCAA, AJ Griffin presented himself to the 2022 Draft. Chosen in 16th position by the Hawks, he had a rather promising first campaign, averaging 8.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per 20 minutes.

Last season, however, with Quin Snyder taking over, he played very little.
