Reed Sheppard Punishes Alexandre Sarr's Wizards

Confirmation that the Rockets will be difficult to beat in this summer league with their Whitemore-Sheppard tandem. Already in sight against the Lakers, Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard added another layer with 25 and 22 points respectively in the big win over the Wizards (109-91). Already trailing by 15 points at half-time, the teammates ofAlexandre Sarr suffered enormously under the panels with 30 rebounds, against 48 for the Rockets.

It was Orlando Robinson who reigned on the racket with his 22 points and 15 rebounds in 22 minutes, and Sarr was eaten up physically. Timid in attack (4 out of 14 shots) by his desire not to go near the circle, the French rookie lived an ordeal in the 4th quarter, to the point that Robinson would score 12 points in a row!

Among the Washington rookies, the Swiss Kyshawn George showed great shooting skills (14 points on 5 out of 6 shooting), and it was he who allowed the Wizards to get back into the game in the 3rd quarter. Still as interesting in creation, Bub Carrington missed his shots: 5 out of 16.

On the Houston side, Sheppard was impressive again as he added 7 assists, 6 rebounds and even 5 steals to his 22 points. Everything we had already written after the game against the Lakers is confirmed: he is an intelligent, creative and very active player in defense. He is, for the moment, the best rookie of the summer leagues.
