Record attendance in NBA theaters!

On the networks, in terms of audience, and therefore attendance, the NBA never misses an opportunity to congratulate itself for its achievements and various records. At the end of November, the league was this time able to highlight the good attendance figures of its theaters throughout the month of November. For good reason, it is a new record which has been hailed, with figures that make you dream…

The NBA formalized a new attendance record for a first month full of competition, recording an average of 18,208 fans per game! A figure which can be explained by several factors which go beyond the “Wembanyama effect” even if it must have played a role.

The victories fill the rooms…

If at Spurs, the increase in attendance is linked to Wemby, we also note that the victories bring the public back to rooms that have been deserted in recent years. The proof with Houston (from 16,313 spectators on average in 2022-2023 to 17,328 at the start of the season), Minnesota (from 16,768 to 18,024) and even Orlando (from 17,765 to 18,832). We can also mention the continuation of the Thunder's “process” which is also reflected in its attendance figures (15,534 last season to 17,065 after 10 home games this season).

Finally, the excitement generated by the establishment of the group phase of the “In-Season Tournament” was also able to attract the curiosity of fans and contribute to inflating the figures for this successful start to the year. We can be sure that the NBA will not fail to share figures on TV audiences or attendances for matches in its first tournament.
