Almost complete, the Jazz ended their preseason on a very bad note with a 38-point defeat in Portland. Like Lauri Markkanen (1 out of 9 on shots), Will Hardy's men never found a solution to approach the circle or to counter the enthusiasm of the young Blazers, like Rayan Rupert.
A 12-0 run initiated by Jerami Grant allowed Portland to quickly take control (18-8), and then the Blazers unfolded. Under the boards, Donovan Clingan is really impressive physically, and he has good hands. Deni Avdija is very easy and selfless, and as soon as he came on, Rayan Rupert got into tune.
Twenty rebounds for Clingan!
The Frenchman enjoyed playing behind the defense to give solutions to Jerami Grant, like on this basket under the circle to end the first quarter (29-17). After two lost balls, Chauncey Billups calls him back to the bench, and Ryan Rupert will wait until the middle of the 3rd quarter to find the field. At that point, the match is already over since the gap has reached 40 points!
Rayan Rupert can then let go against an almost non-existent defense. And when his layups are contested, he will look for the fault. Upon arrival, he compiled 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 23 minutes.
Iliana's little brother shot 9 out of 14 on shots, and finished as the match's top scorer. At his side, Donovan Clingan has 14 points, 20 rebounds, including 10 offensive, and 4 blocks!
