Pre-Olympic tournaments: the program of the first day

Basketball is back in action with the first day of the four pre-Olympic tournaments. NBA stars like Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Deandre Ayton and Domantas Sabonis are in the running to help their nations secure a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games.

The tournaments take place from July 2 to 7, in Athens (Greece), Riga (Latvia), Valencia (Spain) and San Juan (Puerto Rico).

here is composition of each tournamentwith two groups of three teams. Only the winner of each tournament will go to the Olympic Games, and all eyes will be on Piraeus where Greece and Slovenia are expected to face off in the final for the last ticket.

  • Valencia TQO : Spain, Angola, Lebanon (Group A) — Bahamas, Finland, Poland (Group B)
  • TQO Athens : Greece, Dominican Republic, Egypt (Group B) — Slovenia, Croatia, New Zealand (Group A)
  • TQO Riga : Latvia, Georgia, Philippines (Group A) — Brazil, Montenegro, Cameroon (Group B)
  • TQO San Juan : Puerto Rico, Italy, Bahrain (Group B) — Lithuania, Mexico, Ivory Coast (Group A).

PROGRAM OF THE 1ST DAY

Brazil – Montenegro (2:30 p.m.)
Egypt – Dominican Republic (4:30 p.m.)
Finland – Bahamas (5:30 p.m.)
Latvia – Georgia (18:00)
Slovenia – Croatia (8:00 p.m.)
Spain – Lebanon (8:30 p.m.)
Italy – Bahrain (11:30 p.m.)
Mexico – Lithuania (02h30)
