It’s very rare, but the NBA has named the same players for the Player Of The Week trophies for the second week in a row. In the East, it is Joel Embiid who keeps his trophy with huge stats: 35 points, 12.7 rebounds and 3.3 blocks on average. In his wake, the Sixers remain on eight straight wins, and the All-Star pivot has completely reignited the MVP race.
In the west it is Domantas Sabonis who achieves the double. For the first time since 2006, the Kings will end the season with a positive record, and the Lithuanian finished the week in a “triple-double” with 22.8 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists on average. The Sacramento pivot is number 1 in the NBA in double-doubles and rebounds, and 2nd in triple-doubles. The former center of the Pacers is on track to earn a place in an All-NBA Teams at the end of the season.
