Players of the week: Kawhi Leonard and Bobby Portis, the last elected

The NBA has unveiled the list of the last “Players of the Week” of the season. In the West, Kawhi Leonard was chosen, the winger having allowed the Clippers to finish the campaign with three victories (Lakers, Blazers, Suns).

With 25.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists on average, he was preferred to Stephen Curry (Golden State), Anthony Edwards (Minnesota), Brandon Ingram (New Orleans) and LeBron James (LA Lakers).

In the East, Bobby Portis was chosen. The usual 6th man took advantage of the various rest periods to shine, especially against the Bulls, for 20.7 points and 12.3 rebounds on average over the three games he played. He was also particularly hot from afar, with a 13/22 (59%) 3-point success!

He was preferred to his teammate Jrue Holiday as well as Jimmy Butler (Miami), Immanuel Quickley (New York) or Pascal Siakam (Toronto).

It is in any case the first time that Bobby Porter has been honored in this way, while Kawhi Leonard receives this trophy from “POTW” for the eighth time in his career, but the first time since January 2020…
