Players of the month: Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid crush the rackets | NBA

After the rookies of the month of January, the NBA continues to distribute its rewards with the “Players of the month”. And without too much surprise, it is Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid who are in the spotlight.

In the West, the Nuggets pivot is almost triple-double over the period, with 26.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and 9.0 assists on average, with a Denver team that won 11 of its 16 games in January.

In the East, the Sixers pivot, is also ultra dominant with 34.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists on average, while his team won 12 of its 15 games in January to seriously reposition itself in the standings!

Philadelphia was thus at the end of December with a barely balanced balance sheet in 6th place in its conference, and now points to a victory for Chicago to take the lead in the East, even if the general classification is very tight.

Note that Joel Embiid is crowned for the second month in a row, after having already received this honorary trophy in December. It is the first Sixer in history to achieve this small feat.
