PJ Tucker secured the end of his career in the summer of 2022 by negotiating a three-year, $33 million contract when he signed with Philadelphia. A year later, the Sixers used it as an adjustment variable to part ways with James Harden, sending him to the Clippers along with “The Beard”.
His season in California was not a smooth ride, like that of Steve Ballmer's franchise, the veteran even going so far as to publicly request his transfer in February, which cost him a fine of $75,000. At the end of a chaotic season, PJ Tucker, however, made the choice of reason by raising his “player option” to $11.5 million for 2024/25, and will therefore remain, until further notice, a Clipper.
If he no longer has the same performance as in his heyday in Houston or Milwaukee during the title year in 2021, the position 4 knows above all that it was impossible for him to find such a salary in free agency.
It remains to be seen whether he will be in the Clippers squad at the start of the season, especially if Paul George moves…
