PJ Tucker already leaving the Clippers?

Arrived at the beginning of November Los Angelesas part of the transfer of James Harden, PJ Tucker has since struggled to make a mark (1.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 14 minutes on average). For five games, he has completely left Tyronn Lue's rotation, multiplying the “DNP – Coach's Decision”, and this situation logically annoys him.

Although he certainly remains professional, notably taking the young Kobe Brown under his wing, the 38-year-old veteran has nevertheless begun to discuss with his managers his future among the Clippers. The latter could thus agree to let him leave in the coming weeks, while The Athletic reports that several candidates for the title are already monitoring the file.

Eager not to occupy a place at the end of the bench in Los Angeles, PJ Tucker receives $ 11 million this season and he has a “ player option » for next season, to the tune of $11.5 million. Crowned NBA champion with the Bucks in 2021, in an all-purpose blue-collar role, “Tuck” was still an executive with the Sixers before he left them for California a few weeks ago.

Player option : possibility for a player to activate (or not) the last year of his contract, in order to end his lease or become a “free agent” one year in advance.
