Pistons send Marvin Bagley to Wizards

It's not the exchange of the year, nor of the month perhaps, but ESPN announces that the Wizards and Pistons are close to completing a trade involving four players. This will obviously not save their season since the two franchises have already said goodbye to the playoffs and the “play-in”, but the Wizards recover Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Livers and two second rounds of the Draft, while Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala are the reverse path.

For Washington, it is a question of densifying a racket that has been non-existent since the start of the season, even if it is not Bagley who will solve their defensive problems. The former Kings interior should be the first rotation behind Kyle Kumza and Daniel Gafford, and he should get more playing time than at the Pistons where he competed with Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart and James Wiseman.

On the Pistons side, if they keep the Muscala-Gallinari duo, it is a question of bringing experience to a group which is sorely lacking in it.

It is mainly a financial matter since the two veterans are at the end of their contracts, while Bagley must receive 12.5 million dollars next season.
