Pistons begin coaching interviews

Who will take Monty Williams' place on the Pistons bench? Once mentioned, the JJ Redick track went out on Thursday evening, and ESPN announces that the new management has already completed three meetings. Without much surprise, we find the names of some of the best assistants in the NBA with Sean SweeneyJason Kidd's right-hand man at the Mavericks, and Micah Nori, Chris Finch's first assistant at Wolves. They have one thing in common: they have already been assistants with the Pistons, and it was together with Dwane Casey from 2018 to 2021!

The two are used to interviewing for every coaching position that becomes available. The 3rd coach contacted, and it's more of a surprise, it's JB Bickerstaff. Fired by the Cavaliers despite a very good record at the head of the team, he could be the man for the job in Detroit. He proved in Cleveland that he could bring young people to the top, but also manage All-Stars.

Within hours of Williams' dismissal, two other names emerged to replace him. James Borrego, who is the favorite to replace Bickerstaff in Cleveland, and Johnnie Bryant, an assistant to Tom Thibodeau at the Knicks.
