Phoenix Now Hires James Posey as Assistant

After David Fizdale, Chad Forcier, Mike Hopkins, Vince Legarza and Brent Barry, it is now the turn of James Posey to join Mike Budenholzer's staff at the Suns, to become one of his assistants.

A two-time NBA champion as a player, in Miami and Boston, the 47-year-old technician has had various experiences on a bench. First at the Canton Charge in the G-League (2013–14), then in Cleveland (2014–19) and Washington (2022–24) in the NBA. All interspersed with a stint in women's college basketball, also as an assistant, at Virginia.

After his twelve-year playing career (1999–2011), James Posey notably met James Jones at the Cavaliers, who is now none other than the current GM of Phoenix.
