Like the Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins, Paul George came off his hinges in relation to the refereeing body which he vigorously criticized after the narrow defeat of his Clippers on the floor of the reigning champion (111-108).
The Californian winger notably declared that Los Angeles had faced Denver… five against eight, therefore including the three referees in the opposing camp.
Like Taylor Jenkins, Paul George was therefore fined by the NBA. But unlike the Memphis coach, who had to pay a fine of $25,000, PG will have to pay a fine of $35,000 ! The title of the sanction is, however, exactly the same: public criticism of the arbitration.
This is because, as with Draymond Green’s physical slip-ups, the NBA takes into account Paul George’s history regarding verbal slip-ups. The winger is thus the record holder for fines for criticism of referees.
