Patty Mills reunites with Will Hardy at Jazz

After three years spent discovering the Eastern Conference, Patty Mills is returning to the West. The Australian point guard has just signed a one-year contract with $3.3 million with the Utah Jazz.

Tossed around between Houston and Oklahoma last summer, Mills ended up landing in Atlanta. He played very little with the Hawks, only 19 games between October and the end of February.

Finally cut before the trade deadline, the Boomer had bounced back somewhat by joining the Heat along the way. Patty Mills will have played 13 games under Erik Spoelstra, the time to accumulate 5.8 points (shooting 20.8% from distance) and 1.5 assists in 16 minutes.

A successful Olympic Games

As is often the case, it was during the summer that the Australian point guard showed his best side. Author of a solid match against Spain in the opening of the Olympic Games, he was productive in the defeat against Serbia in the quarter-finals. His final stats? 16.5 points on 42% shooting, including 41% on 3-pointers.

At Jazz, the former Heat point guard will be reunited with a coach he has worked alongside for a long time, Will Hardy. The latter was Gregg Popovich's assistant at the Spurs when Patty Mills was Tony Parker's understudy, then Dejounte Murray's.
