For several weeks, the Pacers seem to be the team most interested in the arrival of Pascal Siakamand according to The Athletic, the discussions would have seriously advanced a few hours ago! To the point that the leaders of the two parties would have managed to draw the skeleton of the exchange.
Thus, Siakam could join Indiana in exchange for Bruce Brown Jr. and three future first rounds of the Draft! This accumulation of first rounds of the Draft is valuable for the Pacers to win the bet, even if they are not assured that the Raptors power forward will extend with them next summer.
The Pacers' missing link?
Signed this summer, after his title won with the Nuggets, Brown has the highest salary on Indiana's roster with $22 million, and his contract is not guaranteed for the future. Which means that Toronto could part with him at the end of the season, and get back a nice sum of money. An ideal envelope to extend Immanuel Quickley recovered during the end-of-year holidays.
In his last year of contract, at $38 million, the Cameroonian would intend to test the market next July, and he could therefore leave the Pacers after a stint of a few months. This has already been seen in the past. But the Pacers have money, and above all great ambitions with a playmaker, Tyrese Haliburton, considered one of the best in his position.
The Athletic specifies that the Raptors are also talking with the Kings, the Warriors and the Mavericks.
