Recently tested by the Wolves and the Hornets, Elfrid Payton finally rebounded on the Indiana side since the Pacers announced, in one sentence and without any details, having hired the playmaker.
THE Fieldhouse Files specifies that the former Phoenix and New York player was only invited to the training camp, via an “Exhibit 10 contract”, and that it is above all his return ticket to the G-League.
Because last season, after a brief stint in Puerto Rico, Elfrid Payton joined the Mad Ants, the team affiliated with the Pacers, for ten matches in the G-League. He then averaged 7.9 points and 6 assists in 20 minutes.
As the Pacers already have fifteen players under contract, plus three two-way contracts, Elfrid Payton cannot hope for better there. Especially with a career that has been slipping since his departure from the Knicks in 2021.
