Barring a cataclysm, Bennedict Mathurin will still wear the Pacers jersey next season. The Indiana franchise announced that it had activated the option on the third year of his contract. A logical choice for the 6th choice of the 2022 Draft who had a very good rookie year with almost 17 points and 4 rebounds on average.
His performances earned him a place in the best five beginners of the season. Established at the end of the year, Bennedict Mathurin is one of the great hopes for the future of the club. With Tyrese Haliburton, they can form one of the most promising guard duos in the league.
In addition to Bennedict Mathurin, the Pacers also activated the option on the fourth year of Isaiah Jackson’s contract. The 21-year-old center regressed slightly statistically last year but knows how to make the most of his playing time with 7 points, 4 rebounds and more than an average block in 16 minutes.
He will receive $4.4 million that year (2024/25) when Bennedict Mathurin will receive a little less than double that ($7.2 million).
