In 2018, Kelly Krauskopf was the first woman named assistant GM in the NBA, with the Pacers.
Upstream, the leader had already had a rich career, participating in the creation of the WNBA in 1996, before becoming president and GM of the Indiana Fever, from its creation in 2000 until 2018. During this time, the team had reached the playoffs for 13 seasons, especially winning the title in 2012 with Tamika Catchings.
A club that she will now return to, still as president, while Lin Dunn will remain GM.
“The WNBA and the Fever have always been a part of me, and it’s truly a privilege to be asked to return to lead this team at this unprecedented time in the growth of women’s basketball.”, explains Kelly Krauskopf in a press release. “I would like to thank Kevin Pritchard for asking me to join his team six years ago. There is no doubt that this experience will serve me well as I embark on this new chapter.”
A promising new chapter as the Fever returned to the playoffs in the wake of Caitlin Clark.
