Operated, Jakob Poeltl could miss the entire end of the season

Hit in the little finger of his left hand and left with an injury at the end of the first half on Sunday against Charlotte, Jakob Poeltl underwent surgery in New York two days later.

The Toronto franchise did not specify the duration of the absence of its Austrian pivot, holder at position 5 and important element of Darko Rajakovic's system. Since there are five weeks left of the regular season, it is not certain that we will see him on the field again this season, and the medical staff are talking about an absence to undetermined duration.

This will considerably complicate the task of the Raptors in the objective of clinging to the Top 10 in the East while Scottie Barnes also had to go to the pool on Monday for a broken left hand. For now, the Raptors believe it is too early to say whether Scottie Barnes is “out” for the rest of the season or not. Like Jakob Poeltl, we would not be surprised if the staff decided to keep them in the infirmary for the next five weeks, depending on the results.

While Darko Rajakovic's troops have five wins less than 10th Atlanta, they will begin a four-game road trip which begins this evening in Phoenix. All without Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl, but also Bruce Brown and Ochai Agbaji, affected in the knees.
