After failing to sign Monty Williams, the Pistons are entering the final phase of their hiring of a coach. They are only two in the running to succeed Dwane Casey since Yahoo! Sports tells us that Jarron Collins, assistant to the Pelicans, was not selected for a final interview.
Which means that everything will be played between Charles Lee, first assistant to the Bucks, and Kevin Ollie, the former coach of Connecticut. The latter would be favored by GM Troy Weaver since they worked together at OKC a few years ago.
As for Lee, he is one of the candidates to succeed Mike Budenholzer at the Bucks. Every year, like Kevin Young (Suns) or Becky Hammon (Aces), he is interviewed, but he has not had any first experience as a “head coach”.
