Olivier Maxence-Prosper, last rookie of the first round to sign his contract

It’s finally official: Olivier Maxence-Prosper signed his rookie contract with the mavs, a little less than a month after the Draft. Initially chosen by the Kings in 24th position, the Canadian winger was sent in stride to dallasalongside Richaun Holmes, joining Derek Lively II as the Texas club’s second rookie.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but as “O-Max” was chosen in the first round, we know that it is a four-season contractprobably with a “team option” on the third and fourth year.

Trained at Clemson and then at Marquette for two seasons (12.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season), Olivier-Maxence-Prosper brings the Mavericks valuable defensive potential, in the 3/4 positions.

Olivier was considered one of the best outside defensemen in the college league last season, and he plays with infectious energy. », said Nico Harrison, the GM of the Mavericks. ” We are happy that he finally signs his contract with us. »

After signing the Montreal native, all players selected in the first round of the Draft last month have officially signed their rookie contracts.

There is now no more only a handful of drafted rookies in the second round without a contract, like Frenchman Sidy Cissoko, whose lease with Spurs for the next season has not yet been announced by the club.
