See you on August 17 for the ceremony

As a reminder, the election process for the “Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame” is complex. This is organized into four committees: a “North America” committee, a “Women” committee, an “International” committee and a “Veterans” committee.

While the “Women”, “International” and “Veterans” committees can only propose two names each, the “North America” committee can propose, on its own, up to ten names. They are then transmitted to an honorary committee composed of 24 members, who then vote for each name submitted to it.

To be inducted, a player must obtain at least 18 votes, out of the 24 of the honorary committee. Condition fulfilled by Vince Carter, Chauncey Billups, Michael Cooper, Jerry West or even Walter Davis, therefore.
