A year ago, the Nuggets selected Christian Braun in 21st position in the 2022 Draft. On Draft night, it had gone unnoticed, and a year later, we could see that Denver management had had their nose hollow by selecting this energetic exterior, author of a rare NCAA/NBA double in two seasons!
This season, the Nuggets do not have a first round of the Draft, but the Denver Post reports that the Colorado franchise is making phone calls to find one. For now, the Nuggets only have second-round picks (37th and 40th), and they could include their first draft 2024 pick, obtained in a trade with the Thunder.
It was in the middle of the Finals, the Nuggets had then made an exchange with the Thunder: they had sold their first round of Draft 2029 (with protection, not yet communicated) to OKC, which had separated from its 37th choice of Draft 2023, its second round of Draft 2024 and its “least favorable” first round of Draft 2024, since the Thunder has four choices in the 2024 Draft (his own, that of the protected Rockets Top 4, that of the Clippers and that of Jazz Protected Top 10).
If the Nuggets really want to part with their first round of the Draft in 2024, it’s because they have their sights on one player in particular. Maybe the next Christian Braun…
