No question for Team USA to replace Kevin Durant for the Olympics

Even though it wasn't necessarily easy, the Americans ended their preparation with a fifth win in five games. And Steve Kerr took advantage of yesterday's victory over Germany to confirm that Kevin Durant will indeed be there to seek Olympic gold in France.

The initial plan was to have him play a few minutes during the final stage of preparation in London after having him back in training at the end of last week. Ultimately, it will only be when Team USA arrives in Villeneuve d'Ascq that the triple Olympic champion should continue his comeback, still in training, quickly integrating the contacts so that he can be ready as quickly as possible.

While it is not known whether he will be operational for the first match against Serbia, it is now certain that the double MVP of the Finals will be on the final list of Team USA, which has until Saturday to make its roster official.

“There is no question of replacing Kevin. I was hoping he would play a game here, but it didn't happen like that”, Steve Kerr confidedconfident in the ability of his former Warriors player to quickly find his rhythm. “When he's out, he comes back and he's still the player he is. He's one of the most talented players of all time. So we hope he comes back quickly, and I think he'll fit right in.”
