No problem for Houston against Dallas

The match begins with a duel between Klay Thompson and Jalen Green and it is Houston, deprived of Amen Thompson (suspended), who takes control after the first quarter (30-24). Same logic in second, with Quentin Grimes on one side, Cam Whitemore on the other. Every time the Mavericks take a little lead, the Rockets come back and even go 23-4! Thus, the gap is logical at the break (61-52).

Kyrie Irving, until then quite discreet, showed himself more at the start of the second half, by stringing together baskets. But it is not enough to fully return to the match, well managed by the Houston players (89-75) who accelerate again. Klay Thompson, with two winning baskets in a row, plus that of Spencer Dinwiddie, attempts a new comeback in the fourth quarter. But even if Ime Udoka's troops do not perform a good last act, they hold on and win (110-99).

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Uninspired Mavericks. The Mavericks' offensive difficulties were evident in this game. Luka Doncic is not there, will miss several more weeks and obviously, that weighs on him. Jason Kidd's players lost 20 balls and the more the minutes passed, the more we felt that this team wouldn't really have the weapons to get ahead and even less to hope to win. After only 100 units against Sacramento, they only scored 99 points against their neighbor.

Houston avoids the crisis, not Dallas. It was written before the interval: the Texan team which was going to lose would be in for the start of a crisis. The Mavericks are now on three losses in a row, while the Rockets, after two short defeats in a row, are getting back on track. And Jason Kidd and his players are likely to dig deeper since the next opponent is Cleveland, the best team in the league…
