After the Draft and the start of “free agency”, the NBA planet will quickly switch to the Summer League with the California Classic Summer League in Sacramento (July 3 and 5), the Salt Lake City Summer League (3 and 5-6 July) then the Summer League in Las Vegas from July 7 to 17. The summer meeting is an opportunity for prospects to show what they have in mind in an environment and a game close to that practiced in the NBA. It is also a preferential passage for players wishing to find a place in the NBA.
After participating in it for the past two years, juhann Bégarin, drafted by Boston in 2021 with the 45th choice, should not be there this time. This was indicated by the Boston Globe according to a source from the NBA, stating that the decision was made because of his signing with a new club (from Paris Basketball to Nanterre 92).
This may mean that no agreement in this direction has yet been negotiated with Nanterre as it could have been the case with Paris Basketball. It may also mean that the back favors the French team to prepare for the World Cup, with a rally starting on July 24.
Juhann Begarin had however shown himself at ease last year during the Summer League, turning at 18.5 points per game, and it would have been interesting to see his evolution at this stage with one more year on the clock.
The same will be true for Yam Madar, drafted in 2020, also in the second round, and who has played for the past two seasons at Partizan Belgrade.
